About This Site

This site contains a record of my hikes and trail runs in the Northwest.  Each post describes one run or hike, and generally contains a trail map with the GPS track, along with the track data in GPX format.  You may use the GPX file with an application like ExpertGPS or with Google Earth.

If you use a Garmin GPX, you should check out Northwest Trails at switchback.com.  It contains downloadable maps for the GPS, including many that are not  available from other sources.

I don’t include driving directions or detailed trail information.  I assume you can find that in a guidebook or elsewhere on the web.

I wish to acknowledge meetup.com, through which many of the hikes described here were organized.

  1. Hi Charlie!

I love your hiking journal blogs! They are so fun to read. I am actually planning on doing a section to my website and want to know if you’d be interested in contributing a story? I’d provide a link back to your site. Thanks!
